Kalgoorlie-Boulder
The famous inland city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is a major centre of historic interest dating back to the unprecedented gold boom days of 1893, when Paddy Hannan first discovered gold. Now the centre of a vast mineral province, the Goldfields area provides about one third of Australia's gold and most of its nickel production.
A well appointed museum, tourist mine, the chance to try some prospecting and a range of tours provide you with a feel for the sights and sounds of the old Goldfields, just some of a wide range of tourist attractions open to visitors.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder has one-hour flights throughout the day to and from Perth. Kalgoorlie boasts many first class hotels with excellent facilities and cuisine, and a lively nightlife.
